Lifetime Policies - Premier, Classic, Vital
Lifetime Cover is also known as Cover for Life, Renewable Benefit or Reinstatement Policies.
This is the most comprehensive form of pet insurance and offers vet fees cover up to a maximum amount, which is reinstated each year. This means that if your pet develops a long term chronic illness such as diabetes or an ongoing skin condition, provided it didn't pre-date the policy, this will be covered for the rest of your pet's life.
helpucover's Premier, Classic and Vital covers are all lifetime policies:
- Premier has a maximum benefit of £6000 which is reinstated each year for Dog and Cat. For Rabbit this is a Maximum benefit of £2000.
- Classic has a maximum benefit of £4000 which is reinstated each year but within that limit you can only claim £1000 for any one condition each year. The £1000 is also reinstated each year which means that the condition remains covered for the life of the policy.
- Vital has a maximum benefit of £2000 which is reinstated each year but within that limit you can only claim £500 for any one condition each year. The £500 is also reinstated each year which means that the condition remains covered for the life of the policy.
In addition to vet fees, the policies also include other benefits, for example Third Party Liability (for dogs), accidental death, theft and straying, and costs towards finding a missing pet. As with the cover for vet fees, Premier has the highest level of benefits. Please see Benefits for further details.
Once your pet suffers from a medical condition it can become very difficult to get another insurer to offer cover for that condition. This means you could be stuck with an insurer to ensure that your petís pre-existing condition remains covered. So, it is important that you take the time to select your pet insurance company based not just on cost, but on other factors.
