World's oldest living cat turns 27
Tuesday March 17th 2015
They say that cats have nine lives and if the old adage is true each one of Tiffany Two's will be at least three years long.
For the world's oldest living cat has been celebrating her 27th birthday.
Tiffany Two's longevity means she is now the equivalent of a staggering 125 in human years. But her owner, Sharon Voorhees, of San Diego in the US, says her pet is in good health, enjoying her food and still loving the great outdoors.
She says that despite her age Tiffany Two is far from feeble, loves to be petted and is still nimble enough to get up and down the stairs at their Californian home. Ms Voorhees says the $10 she paid for the then six-week-old kitten at a pet shop in March 1988 is the best money she has ever spent.
The short-haired black and orange tortoiseshell was named Tiffany Two in tribute to another cat Ms Voorhees had owned a decade earlier.
According to Guinness World Records the oldest cat ever was Texan moggy Creme Puff who died in 2005 at the age of 38 years and three days.
