Stolen Alfie flags down RSPCA van
Friday April 10th 2015
An RSCPA inspector has spoken of her amazement after a stolen dog managed to flag down her van more than 100 miles from his home.
Stephanie Law was driving down an empty road in Buckinghamshire when seven-year-old Yorkshire terrier Alfie ran out of a nearby wood and began barking at her.
When she opened the door the pooch, which was nabbed in a raid on his owner's home in the West Midlands, jumped on to the passenger seat.
Ms Law scanned Alfie's microchip, which revealed that he had been reported as stolen over a month ago by his owner Kirsty Mitton, of Wednesbury.
She said that while she has had many people flag her down as she has been making her rounds, she has never been stopped by a dog.
The inspector called Alfie a friendly and lovely dog, adding that she was pleased he has been reunited with his owner.
Lillie, an unneutered female which was stolen in the same raid, still remains missing.
