Search begins for missing sheepdog and lamb

Wednesday May 10th 2017

Members of the public have been urged to help track down a dog and the orphaned lamb he was looking after.

Named Bella, the lamb recently lost its mother and still needs to be bottle-fed. It was paired with a one-year-old Border Collie named Blake to provide it with some company.

But now the pair of animals have gone missing and a search has been launched. They have gone missing from their home in Perlethorpe in rural Nottinghamshire, and it's feared they might have escaped .

A social media campaign is aiming to track down the pair, while the local authority's dog warden has also been informed.

Monday afternoon was the last time the animals were sighted.

A representative from Newark and Sherwood District Council said: "We think they may have escaped, but we can't rule anything out. We are asking anyone who may have seen them to get in touch by calling us on 01636 650000."
