Photographer's eye-catching images help pets find homes

Monday May 15th 2017

A photographer is helping to re-home pets at an animal sanctuary, with a range of eye-catching images.

Gerry Slade has taken a range of pictures of pets at Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary in Edenfield, Ramsbottom. And the Manchester Evening News reports that his work has directly helped to re-home many of the centre's animals.

He began taking images of the cats and dogs at the centre after looking for a rescue pet himself.

By successfully capturing the personalities of different animals in his work, Mr Slade has helped find owners for many pets.

He told the newspaper: " As a specialist horse and pet photographer, I felt I could help Bleakholt both with fundraising through my photography and also help to find new homes for some of the animals by producing gorgeous images that would catch people's eye."

The photographer is now in talks with the charity's director, Bob Carter, to see whether things like calendars could be produced to have a further impact.
