Motorbike traps cat for a week

Friday February 12th 2016

A charity is appealing for help tracking down the owner of a cat that was trapped by a motorbike.

Molly, who is between seven and nine months old, is believed to have got stuck when her lead became tangled with the parked bike in Edinburgh.

Scottish SPCA staff think she could have been trapped for a week because of her thin figure when she was found.

The concierge at Cables Wynd House in Leith, close to where the bike was parked, heard meowing and managed to locate her.

Inspector June Chalcroft says Molly was wearing a collar with a harness and a lead, which more than likely latched to the bike as she brushed by.

The pet is now recovering at the Scottish SPCA's animal rescue and rehoming centre in Balerno. If her owner does not come forward to claim her, the charity will find a suitable home for her.
