Matisse the dog wins Britain's Got Talent
Tuesday June 2nd 2015
Matisse the border collie has become the second dog to win Britain's Got Talent.
The pooch and handler Jules O'Dwyer scooped a place at the 2015 Royal Variety Performance as well as £250,000.
Pudsey and handler Ashleigh Butler won the TV talent show three years ago. O'Dwyer, after winning the ninth edition of the series, joked that she would buy a new corgi with the money.
The pair beat off the challenges of other finalists such as second-placed Jamie Raven the magician and third-placed Cor Glanaethwy, a choir. The former managed to make money appear inside a lemon as part of his act - and judge Alesha Dixon had signed it.
The final line-up also included two wildcards. The Boyband dance group had been chosen by judges, while Jesse-Jane McParland, 9, had been chosen by viewers.
The final poll saw 4.5 million votes cast. Judge David Walliams told his Twitter followers that the result proved just how much Britons love dogs.
