Luscious locks make dog a social media sensation
Tuesday October 25th 2016
An Afghan hound has been named the world's prettiest dog thanks to her long glossy mane of hair.
Show dog Tea became an overnight social media sensation both in her native Sydney and around the globe after images posted by her owner Luke Kavanagh attracted thousands of likes and have been shared more than a million times.
Tea has even received offers of work as a result of the snap, landing modelling deals for dog food and shampoo.
Speaking to NewsLocal, Mr Kavanagh said: "We always thought she was too pretty to keep at home. Even our weekend walks draw a crowd. She pretends she doesn't need the attention, but she definitely loves it, just like any supermodel."
He added that people are drawn to her silky coat and dignified look.
Tea has formally retired from dog shows although Mr Kavanagh continues to show his Staffordshire terriers.
