Lend a hand at dog rescue centres
Thursday May 21st 2015
Dog lovers are being asked to lend a helping hand to an animal rescue charity.
Jerry Green Dog Rescue rehomes more than 800 dogs each year across its five centres. And officials are now calling on dog lovers to help them with their work.
This is part of the lead-up to the charity's Volunteers' Week, which is being held between June 1 and 7, and aims to recognise the efforts of millions of contributors around the country.
Volunteer positions are available in the office, community and in general dog care with continuous training and full induction offered. There are Jerry Green branches in Algarkirk, Lincolnshire; Gilberdyke, East Yorkshire; Thirsk, North Yorkshire; Broughton, North Lincolnshire; and Blidworth, Nottinghamshire.
Fundraiser Jenny Harris said the rescue centres relied heavily on the outstanding contributions of volunteers. She added that Volunteers' Week will be a great chance for dog fans to give time to the cause while forging new friendships.
