Keane's car impounded over tax slip
Friday April 9th 2010
Celtic and Ireland ace Robbie Keane's luxury car has been impounded by Scottish police after a man was found driving the vehicle without a tax disc.
The customised Range Rover, thought to be worth around £80,000, was stopped early on Tuesday morning in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire.
Police said the car was taken away after officers spotted the missing disc.
It is believed the driver at the time, a mechanic, had come into possession of the vehicle after the footballer booked it in for maintenance work.
A Strathclyde Police spokesman said: "Following a routine stop of a motor vehicle at 1.15am on Tuesday April 6, 2010, in North Road, Bellshill a male aged 46 years is subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal for an alleged Road Traffic Offence.
"The vehicle was removed to an authorised police removal yard in Bellshill."
