Grumpiness key to moggy's millions
Tuesday December 9th 2014
Hollywood stars, footballers and pop singers are often criticised for being overpaid.
But when it comes to money in the bank, many of them have been left in the shade by the world's grumpiest cat.
It has been revealed that two-year-old Grumpy Cat, aka Tardar Sauce, is now worth around £64 million after shooting to fame in a YouTube video two years ago.
The video has been seen nearly 16 million times, while Grumpy Cat, whose permanent scowl is caused by the underbite and feline dwarfism she was born with, has 225,000 Twitter followers and more than half a million more on Instagram.
The cranky cat's antics have also inspired best-selling books and the Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever movie as well as T-shirts, calendars and mugs.
The cat has even featured on the front page of The Wall Street Journal and made TV appearances on everything from Good Morning America to American Idol.
The internet sensation's owner, Tabatha Bundesen, who lives in Arizona, USA, says her pet's rise to stardom seems to be unstoppable.
