Dozens of dogs descend on Yorkshire

Friday May 15th 2015

An East Yorkshire town is to be taken over by dozens of dogs as a sponsored walk aims to raise money for a rescue centre.

The Jerry Green Dog Rescue Centre in Gilberdyke will play host to the proud pups and their owners as they raise money for the Brew Up, Help A Pup campaign.

The Mad Hatter's Dog Walk Tea Party will raise money for the campaign, which will go towards helping to find permanent homes for the centre's canine residents.

Jenny Harris, fundraiser at the centre, says that the much-needed fundraising will go towards its £1.5 million running costs.

The three-mile walk will take the four-legged friends through open countryside before returning to town for a cuppa and a slice of cake.

Jenny Harris, fundraiser at Jerry Green Dog Rescue, said: "Brew Up, Help A Pup is a great excuse for people to catch up with loved ones and enjoy a delicious treat all in the name of a good cause."
