Dolphin owner in administration
Thursday July 7th 2011
The company that owns Moben Kitchens and Dolphin Bathrooms has gone into administration.
The move has seen more than 500 members of staff at Manchester-based Homeform Group - which also owns Kitchens Direct - made redundant.
Administrator Deloitte was called in after the firm suffered significant difficulties" over the course of the recession.
It has been revealed that 557 staff have been made redundant - however 627 jobs were saved by the sale of Sharps Bedrooms.
A division of private equity firm Sun Capital Partners bought Sharps Bedrooms, which also owns Homeform.
It has also bought 96 of the company's 160 showrooms and concessions and a factory at Bilston in the West Midlands. The new company will operate from Bilston but will also have offices in Camberley.
But the Moben, Dolphin and Kitchens Direct businesses have now been closed although the administrators still hope to sell the brands.
