Dad draws up 'dog contract' for children
Tuesday August 2nd 2016
A dad of three children who were desperate for a puppy has drawn up a 'dog contract' to lay down some rules before agreeing to buy them a furry friend.
Reddit user rjohnstone13 shared the family dog contract that he demanded be signed before allowing his kids to have a pooch.
The entertaining rules include dad never having to pick up dog poop, dad having veto power over the dog's name and the dog never being referred to as a child, sibling or family member.
He also wrote: "The dog does not slobber or have a runny nose. All parties agree that those kind of dogs are gross."
His children also had to agree the dog wouldn't be included on the family Christmas card and that they wouldn't get bored with it.
The father said after they had agreed to all the rules and signed the agreement, the family did get a dog.
They rescued a fluffy three-year-old pup called Kershaw from a shelter who he admits is a "fantastic addition to (though not member of) our family."
