Club night welcomes deaf revellers
Thursday September 1st 2011
London is hosting a unique club night aimed at both deaf and hearing revellers.
Sencity London 2011 has a vibrating dance floor which responds to the base frequency of the music.
Hearing impaired people who love to dance can enjoy the clubbing scene as the organisers create an atmosphere that engages their other four senses.
The special disco features "aroma jockeys" to spread smells interpreting the music.
Expressive dancers, sign language rappers and video projections are used to communicate the sound.
Revellers can also indulge themselves in other activities as the event organisers also provide them with free masseurs, hair stylists, make-up artists and circus performers.
Nienke van der Peet, director of organisers Skyway Programs said: "It is all about using all your senses - hearing, feel, sight, smell and taste."
He added: "Sencity London 2011 is a special and unique event that will bring together deaf and hearing-impaired people, as well as hearing people, to a place to simply have fun."
The event will be held on October 8 at the IndigO2 at London's O2 Arena.
