Channel 4 reveals Crufts coverage
Thursday February 27th 2014
Channel 4 will be showing more Crufts than ever this year with three nights of coverage from the top dog show.
The channel will broadcast an hour-and-a-half on the Friday plus the Saturday and Sunday action, with More4 covering the canine goings-on on Thursday and the rest of Friday.
Clare Balding will front daily highlights from Birmingham's NEC while Liza Tarbuck takes up presenting duties over on More4, including extensive coverage of the main arena including the ever popular agility and flyball competitions.
Anyone thinking of buying a pet dog may want to tune in to see some of the discussions held alongside the action, with information on issues such as how to buy a puppy and initiatives to ensure healthy breeding.
There will again be the Friends for Life competition, in which viewers can use their phone to vote for one of five hero dog finalists and owners for the 2014 Friends for Life crown.
Caroline Kisko, Secretary of the Kennel Club, which organises Crufts, said millions of people will be able to tune in to the action as it reaches its climax on Sunday night.
"Crufts is one of the most exciting events in any dog lover's calendar and the past few years of More4's coverage, and last year's Channel 4 coverage of Best in Show, really captured the special relationship between humans and our dogs," she added.
