Cat seeks home after double loss

Friday July 15th 2016

Felix the cat is looking for a new forever family to cushion a double loss in his long life.

The white-and-black cat lost his owner and his best feline friend in the space of just a few months.

An RSPCA unit in the Somerset hamlet of West Hatch, near Taunton, has made an appeal to find him a new home after taking him in when his owner died.

Cola, a cat with kidney trouble who arrived at the animal charity at the same time, soon passed away too, leaving Felix on his own. The centre's deputy manager Anita Clark describes the elderly Felix as a "gorgeous" cat who has been down on his luck lately.

She says he will make a "lovely companion" for his next "lucky" owners. This "super" cat loves sunbathing and sleeping.

Ms Clark says it is about time that old Felix got the lucky break he deserves after all his recent heartbreak. She calls him "sweet", "gentle" and a creature of comfort.
