Battersea to build new pet centre

Wednesday April 30th 2014

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London is to house a new lost and found centre to reunite missing pets with their owners.

The build will be funded by a landmark donation of £120,000 from grant-giving charity Support Adoption For Pets, which has worked closely with members of staff at the home for a number of years.

It is the biggest single amount ever awarded by the group. Battersea will also use the money to help with general day-to-day running.

The home receives an average of 13 dogs in need of help every single day. Pepe, a 10-year-old Yorkshire terrier recently became the 1,000th rescue dog through the charity's doors this year alone because his owner could no longer care for him.

Animals need lots of love and attention. Pet Insurance is one way to ensuring they receive the best possible care.

Battersea is currently seeking public support to help raise £1.9 million to build new kennels for the thousands of dogs and cats that it takes in.
