Audi A3 'found to retain value'

Thursday August 26th 2010

The Audi A3 holds its value better than nearly all other cars on the market, according to new research.

The German car has been found to have the strongest resale value of Britain's top 10 most popular purchases.

Auto Trader looked at the cars' original purchase price in August last year and compared this to the asking price on their website in July 2010.

It found Britain's sixth most popular new car bought last year lost just 7% of its original value in comparison to the most popular car, the Ford Fiesta, which lost 23%.

Britain's top 10 most popular vehicles lost the following price percentages in their first year:

:: Ford Fiesta - 23 per cent

:: Ford Focus - 39 per cent

:: Vauxhall Corsa - 10 per cent

:: Vauxhall Astra - 45 per cent

:: Volkswagen Golf - 26 per cent

:: Audi A3 - 7 per cent

:: Peugeot 207 - 20 per cent

:: Vauxhall Insignia - 34 per cent

:: Honda Jazz - 18 per cent

:: Vauxhall Vectra Life - 54 per cent
